Sense Of Self And Style
Process-I created my project by taking pictures of myself showing two emotions that mostly reflect who I am and what I usually go through. I printed two different versions of these photographs, one with a normal color on it, and another that was black and white, I gridded these out these pcitures occoriding to the measurements of the paper that I was going to be working on.. Then I began sketching my reference images onto my piece of paper with a pencil and when I finished that, went in and began drawing it in with charcoal. After finishing the shadowing of drawing my reference images into the paper, I painted the background with white acrylic paint, and painted the cutouts that were in my layout with blue acrylic paint. Then I matted my painting with a fixative so that the charcoal that I used to create the shadows throughout my reference image wouldn't move.

Peer Critiques-
-
Sensory- Anna Catherine Hunt suggested that I make the texture in my artwork on my neck a little more smoother.
-
Formal/Technical- Maggie Bienko suggested that I make the left side of my arm less abrupt by using a more faded blending technique.
-
Expressive- Ms. Johnson suggested that I make the sad emotions of my face more upset.
Final-
Reflection-
Elements And Principals Of Design-
-
Element- I used color and value in my artwork when creating the shadows that are in the reference images within my self portrait.
-
Element- I used texture in my artwork when I was creating my hair and making it look as though it was realistic.
Overall Reflection-I learned that I am really good at creating the shadows with the charcoal medium. I could have improved on the neatness of the white color in the background of my piece.
